Pioneer
A non-rotating format using cards from 2012 onward. Pioneer offers a middle ground between Standard's accessibility and Modern's depth.
Pioneer was introduced in 2019 as a bridge between Standard and Modern — a non-rotating format with a more recent card pool that's easier to get into than Modern but offers more strategic depth than Standard. It includes cards from Return to Ravnica forward, which means it avoids some of Modern's most powerful (and expensive) staples while still offering a rich metagame. Pioneer has had ups and downs in terms of organized play support, but it still has a loyal following and is fully available on MTG Arena, making it one of the more accessible non-rotating formats.
